The job holder is responsible for directing and monitoring the execution of efficient and effective company secretarial and legal services to the Board and Management of Zambia Airports Corporation, in line with relevant legislation, overall ZACL strategy, policies, standards, procedures and practices.
Key Performance Areas
- Establish an integrated strategic framework that unifies governance, risk, compliance, and related assurance functions to achieve a consistent and holistic vision across the organization.
- Provide assurance to the Board on the adequacy and functionality of the company’s overall corporate governance processes.
- Provide company secretariate services
- Manage and report on performance against Governance and Compliance’s strategic plan and accountability to the Managing Director.
- Direct and monitor reporting on legislative and statutory compliance as defined by ZACL, government and relevant professional bodies.
- Promote sound Governance, Compliance and Risk Management principles and ensuring relevant governance structure are in place.
- Establish, manage, and maintain strategic relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor the management of external counsel relationships.
- Direct and manage the development and execution of project plans that support ZACL’s vision and short and long-term plans.
- Direct and monitor the provisioning of guidance expertise and advise management on trend, best practice and applicable policies and legislation.
- Direct and monitor the execution of continuous improvement plans to ensure optimization of operations, processes, innovation, and business continuity.
- Champion change and managing the evaluation of the Governance and Compliance’s operations to enhance quality, efficiency, and output.
- Monitor the delivery of the project’s outcomes in line with the Governance and Compliance plans and overall ZACL business strategy.
- Manage, mentor and empower employees and change within the unit to promote high performance, optional working environment and cost – effective operations.
- Drive a high-performance culture by taking accountability for an effective and well- articulated performance management process, and
- Forster an organizational culture and climate that is customer – oriented and value drive and is aligned to ZACL’s shared values.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ level credits or better including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Arts in Law
- Qualified Practising Lawyer admitted to the Zambian Bar for at least 5 years.
- At least 8 years’ experience of which 5 years should be in managerial capacity. alH
